Christmas Gift Idea for the Family Man

I was talking with my beautiful wife Jessica and we were discussing how hard it is for guys to buy gifts for their wives. So she came up with a great idea to help you family guys out this Christmas Season. So here is Jessica's advice...

If you are a young dad, and need one more gift to buy your wife this Christmas, I have a quick tip that’s cheap and special! We usually love anything that incorporates a fun family tradition. One of ours is having a birthday cake for Jesus every year. We put candles on it and sing happy birthday to him.  I like to have the Brooklyn Tab song - Happy Birthday Jesus playing in the background too. This helps the kids keep their focus on Christ instead of all the other stuff.

So, here is the gift idea .....
Why don't you buy a Christmas themed cake stand (JC Penny had a cute peppermint looking one), and wrap a box of cake mix on it with a ribbon. When she opens it have a black Sharpie ready to have the kids write their names on the bottom of it.

The best part of this gift is the fact that it will bring many “Sweet Memories” year after year and it is something that you all can work on together.

Since we are talking about traditions I should mention another one that we have. When we set up our nativity scene, each child is given a handful of figurines from the set. Bil reads the birth of Jesus from the Bible. As he comes across the names of the different people, each child walks up, and places the appropriate figurine in the nativity. Rather than just reading it to them, they enjoy being involved in it.

By the way, if you have boys they will probably end up using the figurines to battle each other, so it is a great idea to buy a separate toy nativity set that they can play with as well :)

God Bless You and Your Family,

Merry Christmas ~ Jessica Cornelius
