Pray

When is the last time you dropped everything you are doing
to pray? Have you felt a feeling of being powerless to change something
or someone, or just missed knowing that God was moving in your life?
There are seasons when we just need to seek God. To seek God for me
begins with a reminder that I am not in control, that I have the privilege of
serving God. It is a reminder that without Him, I can do nothing (John
15:5-6) and that I want no part in manufacturing a movement on my own.
Besides, what God wants to do in me is more valuable to Him than what He wants
to do through me. He does not need me to get His will done, but if
I will stay humble, admit my dependence on Him, then He gives me the privilege
to be in on what He is already doing. That’s why I pray. I need
Him…desperately. I am hopeless in my own power. Yet, I am powerful
when surrendered to the Almighty. Let’s stop the madness of our
schedules…and just pray.

re: Pray

Hey Bil, this post really touched me. I try to pray as often as I can about the little things. I give Him praise for all good things that happen in my life, but sometimes we just need a reminder of how powerless we are without Him. God has changed my life in so many ways through you and He has now entered the lives of my girlfriend and best friend (who were both atheists) through Bay Area Fellowship. You truly are changing lives Bil. Keep fighting for the awesomeness that is God's Word. God bless you Bil and thank you.

re: Pray

My family and I sat down last night and watched this movie called "Facing the Giants". I do not know if you have seen it but if you know anyone that has doubt about prayer then this is a great movie to watch. It is about a football coach who drives a run down car, his house smells really bad, his wife and him have been trying to have a child and have been unsuccessful for 4 years and for the past six years of coaching he has had losing seasons after another. Then one day he learns he is the reason for no children and have overheard that some parents are trying to get rid of him. He goes home and tells his wife the awful news and the very next morning he is outside with his Bible an talking to God. He asks God to show him a sign and that same morning God sent a person to his office and have a word with him. From then on it was so amazing to watch this coach's faith change. The way he talked to his athletes show changes of those that were lost to find God and they started to win games because they started to play like they were going to win and they prayed before games and they praise God after the game win or lose. Coach found the bad smell in his house and a parent from the team gave him a new truck without letting him know who it was from. The parent just left him a note thanking him for all of the changes he has done and to keep it up. They went on and won the state championship and after the game in the locker room he stated this verse "With God all things are possible" he then asks several of the athletes if anything was not possible when you have God and each one of them said no. He then goes home and talks to his wife and I love this part he reminds his wife that "With God all things are possible" and that God even threw in the state championship because He can. I love that part because He can. God is so amazing. Coach also found out after the game that is wife was expecting. God is awesome and I am ready for myself and family to make that bold step and put all of our faith in God. I do belive in the power of prayer and my promise to day is to read the Bible every day and start living like God would want me to. This movie also really helped my son see things especially having a tough time this year with baseball. Thank you Bil for everything that you and your family have done for us. We love going to Bay Area every weekend and listening to you deliver the word of God.
